Job summary

JJ Food Service is a leading UK-based foodservice wholesaler seeking an Operations Operative for the Day Shift. You will join a friendly warehouse team, receive full training, and have clear prospects for progression. The role focuses on ensuring smooth warehouse operations with emphasis on accuracy, safety, and teamwork.

The position offers a permanent contract with a starting salary of £26,440 per year and a comprehensive benefits package including paid leave and employee discounts.

Responsibilities

• Prepare customer orders for loading onto lorries.
• Store items safely in their correct locations.
• Check stock for damage, loss or short-dated items and report as required.
• Perform manual handling of products (lifting/moving).
• Push/pull trolleys to carry items as needed.

Operations Operative – Day Shift

The perfect candidate will work behind-the-scenes to ensure the warehouse operates smoothly.

Salary: £26,440.00 per annum

We Are Looking For Applicants Who Have

• Experience in a similar role
• Excellent people skills, as well as being a great team player
• Good communication skills
• Eligibility to live and work in the UK
• A physically active nature (due to heavy lifting)
• A good standard of spoken English

Responsibilities Of The Role

• Preparing customer orders that will be loaded onto our lorries
• Store items safely in the correct location
• Check stock for damage, loss or short dated items and report as required
• Manual handling – lifting or moving products as required
• Physical requirements – pushing and pulling the trolley to carry items
