Job summary

Project Start Recruitment Solutions Limited is seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor/Manager for Electrical, Gas & Heating in Bristol. You will lead multi-disciplinary field teams, drive delivery across planned installations, reactive maintenance, and emergency response, and ensure compliance with Gas Safe and NICEIC standards.

Based at our Bristol office, you will optimize productivity, manage budgets, and mentor engineers and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of operational management or supervisory experience.
• Solid knowledge of domestic gas heating, electrical installations and controls.
• Strong KPI, margin, and resource efficiency understanding.

Responsibilities

• Lead, schedule, and optimize daily operations for field engineers and contractors across gas, heating, and electrical trade disciplines.
• Manage resource allocation and workforce planning to maintain high first-time fix rates and meet project milestones.
• Oversee job management systems to monitor workflow progress, logistics, and field productivity from dispatch to completion.
• Collaborate with office administration and dispatch to optimize routing, vehicle utilization and client communications.
• Provide daily leadership, mentorship, and support to field engineers, sub-contractors, and apprentices.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and 1-to-1 meetings to promote team engagement and accountability.
• Identify training and upskilling needs to maintain Gas Safe, NICEIC standards, and emerging clean-energy technologies.
