Job summary

GET Staff is seeking an Operations Manager for Domestic Installations in the Bristol region. The role leads day-to-day delivery of heating, heat pumps and renewables, ensuring quality, safety and profitability across the domestic install team.

You will oversee engineers, subcontractors and resources, coordinating with sales and admin to support on-time delivery and customer satisfaction. A hands-on SME leadership style is required.

Qualifications

• Experience leading field-based operational teams in installs.
• Strong knowledge of domestic heating installations and heat pumps.
• Exposure to renewables or electrical/building services is beneficial.
• Ability to plan labour, schedule work and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
• Focus on quality, compliance, health & safety, and customer expectations.

Responsibilities

• Own the installation diary and forward capacity planning for heat pump installations.
• Manage Heating Engineers, Electricians, renewable engineers, subcontractors and resources.
• Ensure jobs are ready before installation with materials, info, access and documentation.
• Keep installations on time and within scope, meeting quality, safety, and environmental standards.
• Review completed jobs for profitability against quotes, labor and materials.
• Reduce delays, cancellations and bottlenecks in operations.
• Collaborate with sales, surveying, administration and technical teams to support delivery.
• Maintain an operational scoreboard on productivity, lead times, gross margin and capacity.
• Lead toolbox talks, safety briefings and updates with engineers and subcontractors.
• Act quickly on accidents, near misses, complaints and site issues to implement improvements.
