Job summary

DHL Supply Chain is seeking an ambitious Operations Manager to lead a fast-paced luxury automotive logistics operation. You will own operational leadership and budget for a key area, ensuring safety, efficiency and service while guiding the team to deliver exceptional results.

You will work closely with DHL and customer stakeholders to shape future success, drive continuous improvement and maintain high standards across operations.

• Lead site health, safety and environmental policy deployment with adequate resources.
• Define clear roles, train and empower the team to perform required activities.
• Update monthly resource planning based on volume forecasts and communicate actions to leadership.
• Analyze performance, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions with leaders.
• Drive continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to raise productivity, quality, efficiency and service.
• Coach and develop individuals and teams to foster a high-performance culture.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure collaboration and customer satisfaction.

As an Operations Manager, you will take operational leadership and budget responsibility for a key area of our operation, ensuring we consistently achieve operational standards, customer expectations and business objectives. You'll play a critical role in creating a safe, efficient and high-performing environment while leading, developing and inspiring your team to deliver exceptional results. Working closely with both DHL and customer stakeholders, you'll help shape the future success of the operation through strong leadership, operational excellence and a continuous improvement mindset.

A TYPICAL DAY MAY INVOLVE

• Take operational leadership and budget responsibility for managing a safe and efficient operation that delivers against operational standards and customer requirements.
• Ensure DHL Supply Chain Health, Safety and Environmental policies are effectively deployed, with the appropriate resources in place to support a safe working environment.
• Communicate clear roles and responsibilities across your team and ensure colleagues are trained, engaged and fully equipped to carry out required activities.
• Update monthly resource planning based on volume forecasts and volume profile requirements, communicating actions and recommendations to the General Manager.
• Analyse performance results, understand root causes and work closely with Second Line Leadership and the General Manager to implement effective corrective actions.
• Support and drive the site's Continuous Improvement strategy, identifying opportunities to enhance productivity, quality, efficiency and service.
• Lead, coach and develop individuals and teams to create a positive, high-performance culture.
• Build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring effective collaboration and customer satisfaction.

THIS ROLE WOULD SUIT PEOPLE WHO

• Previous warehouse, logistics or supply chain experience.
• Proven experience managing and leading teams within a fast-paced operational environment.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written and presentation skills.
• Ability to build and maintain successful stakeholder relationships.
• Experience managing operational performance and delivering results against key business objectives.
• Automotive industry experience or knowledge.
• Experience working within a customer-focused logistics environment.
• Knowledge of Continuous Improvement methodologies and operational best practice.
