Your Impact:

We are currently recruiting for an Operations Manager to join our Nuclear Decommissioning Authority Solutions Group. The post holder will seek to grow our portfolio of projects with NRS (Nuclear Restoration Services), including EPCC Plant, Waste Retrievals, and Engineering and Safety Frameworks. We aim to develop our digital capabilities and product investments to enable our clients to innovate and improve efficiency.

The role will initially focus on former Magnox stations and Harwell, collaborating with the Operations Managers for NRS Dounreay and AGR Decommissioning, especially as AGRs transition from EDF to NRS. Opportunities in decommissioning and regeneration will also be developed with clients in the UK and internationally.

Preferably based at Warrington in Cheshire, other Jacobs locations will be considered. You will be responsible for team growth and development, safe project delivery, and operational sales and margin. We expect managers to exemplify high performance and behavior standards.

You will be responsible for:
  1. Future: Collaborating with the NDA Solutions lead team to define strategic development, leveraging existing market routes and identifying new clients, partners, and growth opportunities.
  2. Engagement: Proactively engaging with staff and stakeholders within NDA Solutions and the wider ES&T business to achieve goals. Building on existing relationships and creating new ones to understand project drivers.
  3. Winning of Work: Managing the opportunity pipeline with the Growth and Strategy team, leading activities to secure opportunities, supported by Directors and Managers. Ensuring governance compliance and active account management.
  4. Delivery: Ensuring effective project delivery, including financial performance, resource utilization, and margin targets. Supporting Project Managers and engaging stakeholders in project reviews.
  5. Nurturing: Providing leadership and line management for your team across multiple locations. Supporting growth through coaching, mentoring, recruitment, and demonstrating leadership behaviors.
Here's What You'll Need:
  • Knowledge of decommissioning challenges facing clients.
  • Understanding of the civil and/or defense nuclear decommissioning market, stakeholders, clients, and competitors.
  • Experience in project management, technical leadership, or business leadership.
  • Strategic thinking and ability to communicate and deliver business strategies.
  • Focus on collaboration, growth, and embracing new technology and innovation.
  • Effective communication skills and relationship development with clients and stakeholders.
  • Understanding of financial and commercial operations, risk management, and mitigation strategies.
  • Passion for team growth and career development support.
  • Willingness to travel regularly to meet with clients and teams.
