Electrical Operations Manager Operations Manager (Electrical) Cornwall 104986

Reporting to senior leadership, the Operations Manager will establish and grow an electrical business unit across Cornwall. Working full time on a permanent basis, the post-holder oversees safe, profitable delivery of M&E schemes for healthcare, education and commercial clients, managing contracts with main contractors and direct customers. Duties include programming works, controlling budgets, procuring subcontractors, ensuring compliance with regulations and developing a regional team. Applicants should bring proven electrical contracting expertise, commercial awareness and leadership ability.

The salary ranges from £65,000 to £80,000 per annum, with a benefits package included.

Due to an increase in workload and planned expansion, having won a number of new projects in the Healthcare, Education and Commercial sectors, a rare opportunity has arisen for an experienced and driven Electrical Contracts/Operations Manager to lead their Cornwall based work and build a new division in the area.

The Role

Working for a range of clients and main contractors, you will be responsible for the safe and successful delivery of multiple projects with contract values of up to £3m which include new build and refurbishment schemes.

Duties will include:

• Business development, identifying new opportunities in the region
• Building strong working relationships with existing clients and supply chain partners
• Contracts managing up to 4 schemes at any one time
• Leading preconstruction functions having involvement in tendering and design management
• Oversee the recruitment, management and development of staff
• Collaborate with the commercial team to oversee project budgets, procurement, and forecasting for the business unit
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Report into board level on project and region performance

The Person

• Proven experience as an Electrical Contracts or Operations Manager within the building services sector ideally within a contracting environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, installation, and design principles.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Knowledge of the marketplace and area are advantageous
• Relevant electrical qualifications (e.g. City and Guilds, NVQ Level 3, or HNC/HND).
• Full UK driving licence.
