Job summary

SPACE is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee day-to-day performance across a growing student accommodation portfolio. You will report to the Operations Director and lead site management teams to deliver excellent resident experiences, strong commercial performance, and high operational standards.

This hands-on role involves managing multiple properties with regular travel between sites, driving budgets, occupancy targets, compliance, and safety while developing capable teams

Operations Manager

Student Accommodation

We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day performance of our growing student accommodation portfolio.

Reporting to the Operations Director, you will lead and support our site management teams, ensuring our properties deliver excellent resident experiences, strong commercial performance and consistently high operational standards.

This is a hands-on role, with responsibility for multiple properties and regular travel between sites.

What you'll be doing

You'll take ownership of operational performance across a portfolio, supporting the assistant Operations Managers to deliver against budgets, occupancy targets, resident satisfaction and compliance requirements.

You'll oversee property standards, maintenance, housekeeping, resident experience and health and safety, ensuring each building is well managed and our teams have the support they need to succeed.

You'll also play a key role in controlling operating costs, improving EBITDA, managing contractors and delivering our summer turnaround and short term accommodation operations.

Above all, you'll develop strong, accountable management teams who take pride in their buildings and the experience they provide to residents.

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone with proven experience managing multiple properties or operational sites, ideally within student accommodation, hospitality or residential property.

You'll be commercially minded, confident managing budgets and financial performance, and comfortable leading teams across different locations.

You'll need to be organised, proactive and willing to get involved. We're looking for someone who enjoys being out in the properties, working with their teams and making things happen, rather than managing from behind a desk.
