Job summary

Emmaus Coventry & Warwickshire is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day running of our homelessness charity in Coventry. You will oversee community life, support services and social enterprises, providing effective leadership to our Community and Enterprise Teams and collaborating with the Director on wider charity development.

Emmaus Coventry & Warwickshire is looking for an experienced Operations Manager to join us at the heart of our supportive, values-led charity in Coventry.

We support people experiencing or at risk of homelessness, providing accommodation, tailored support and opportunities to gain skills, training and work experience.

As Operations Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of our community, helping to create a safe, inclusive and supportive environment. Working alongside the people we support – known within Emmaus as companions – you will help people develop skills, confidence and independence and work towards the future they want.

This is a varied, hands-on role combining leadership, organisation and people-focused support. You will oversee community life, support services and social enterprise activity, helping everything run smoothly and managing challenges as they arise.

You will provide effective leadership and management to our Community and Enterprise Teams and work closely with the Director to support the wider development of the charity. This includes developing relationships with referral partners, establishing new partnerships and supporting our social enterprises.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone who can lead with empathy, bring people together and remain calm and professional when dealing with challenging situations.

The successful candidate must demonstrate:

• Three years’ experience managing or supervising staff (desirable)
• Experience of managing challenging behaviour and conflict resolution
• Flexibility regarding daily operational location (all within Coventry region) and an ability to carry a diverse workload
• An understanding of professional boundaries

A full driving licence is required.

As a member of the Management Team, you will also contribute to external communications, policy development, business development and marketing.
