Operations Manager
Location: Cardiff, CF10, with hybrid working following training & probation
Benefits:

The Role:
As Operations Manager, you will oversee the maintenance, attractiveness, and accessibility of Cardiff’s public spaces, working with stakeholders, authorities, and businesses on street cleaning, safety initiatives, public realm enhancements, and operational projects.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver the Place Management programme and budget, developing annual plans with support from the Associate Director.
- Manage the Place Management working group, ensuring strong membership and diverse skills.
- Coordinate responses to city and business challenges, especially in the nighttime economy.
- Collaborate with the business engagement team to promote initiatives.
- Build relationships with partners to support project success.
- Manage partners and contractors to ensure timely and within-budget delivery.
- Support project rollout and business crime initiatives.
- Manage the city’s radio scheme, expanding membership and ensuring compliance.
- Contribute to communication efforts promoting place management initiatives.
- Oversee operational projects like street furniture and Christmas installations to improve the environment.
Skills & Experience:
- Experience in facilities management, public realm operations, or urban regeneration.
- Project and operations management skills, including budgeting and planning.
- Understanding of Business Improvement Districts and Cardiff’s environment.
- Proactive approach with a passion for city improvements.
- Budget management experience.
- Stakeholder engagement and influence skills.
- Practical problem-solving abilities.
- Professional communication skills.
- Team player with partnership experience.
- Knowledge of city challenges and opportunities in Wales.
