Operations Manager - Maternity Cover

A rare opportunity has arisen to join the management team in Harvey Nichols Bristol as Operations Manager on a fixed-term basis for 12 months. This is a senior, specialized role working with the General Manager to support the store's selling functions at the highest level, maximizing sales and profit while maintaining exceptional service standards.

Ideal candidates will have previous experience in an operational role, preferably within retail, with strong financial acumen and experience managing multiple disciplinary teams, including Security, Cash Office, and Stock movement.

About the role...

As Operations Manager, you will:

  • Support the selling function as part of the management team
  • Undertake projects to enhance profitability, prepare budgets and forecasts, oversee store costs, and analyze performance data
  • Develop SLAs based on KPIs to improve team efficiency
  • Assess and improve support processes for simplicity and efficiency
  • Maintain communication with Head Office teams
  • Oversee online fulfillment, track KPIs, and report weekly
  • Collaborate on safety, maintenance, and security procedures
  • Manage stock takes, stock adjustments, and write-offs
  • Implement post-audit action plans to improve results
  • Ensure compliance with AML processes and oversee sales reconciliation
  • Set targets for stock accuracy and cash loss
  • Coordinate fixture and asset moves with various teams
  • Prepare budgets and re-forecasts, ensuring projects stay on time and within budget
  • Ensure till operations and banking systems meet requirements
