Job summary

moveatech Limited is seeking an experienced Engineer with a solid understanding of networking and communications equipment to design, build, deploy, maintain, and recover sensor suites for marine surveillance. The role is HQ-based for hands-on build phases, with UK and international travel to deploy and maintain systems on client sites.

You should have experience in electrical engineering, a full UK driving licence, and the ability to work independently with strong problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in Electrical Engineering is preferred.
• Full UK driving licence is required.
• Strong organisational, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with Windows OS and networking.
• Experience with communications systems and equipment.
• Ability to make decisions on the ground.
• UK Security Clearance or threshold requirements.

Responsibilities

• Build and test panels, control cabinets and distribution boxes.
• Wiring and panel production.
• Soldering, connector assembly and crimping.
• Test, interrogate and fault find a system.
• Cable level soldering and PCB production.
• Build and test cables and battery cabling.
• Produce water-tight cable looms and coaxial cables.
• Use and maintain electrical tools and cable crimping tools.
• Electrical installation and fitout.
• Work to Works Orders, drawings and instructions.
• DC power wiring and marinized system installation.
• Fault finding and rectification.
• Collaborate with electrical designers to improve products and drawings.
• Report progress and production issues.
• Manage stock materials and housekeeping.
