Job summary

First Marine Solutions is seeking an experienced Survey Engineer to join our Aberdeen-based team, with offshore attendance on an ad-hoc basis. The role focuses on ensuring all equipment is prepared, tested for offshore deployments, and maintained to project standards.

Experience in survey-oriented electronic or ICT roles (2–5 years) and offshore certification is required, along with a full UK driving license and strong IT skills.

Qualifications

• HNC or higher in Electronic or ICT discipline, or equivalent qualification or field experience.
• Minimum of 2-5 years ‘hands on’ experience in a survey orientated electronic or ICT role.
• Must have a full UK driving license.
• Holds relevant offshore certification.
• Extensive technical understanding and knowledge of the main survey equipment used in offshore survey sector.
• Strong IT skills and good understanding of PC hardware.
• Experience of working in field and offshore as a Survey Engineer.
• Knowledge of Logistics and Customs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, test and package equipment pre-deployment to First Marine Solutions standards and procedures.
• Liaise with equipment suppliers during execution of projects to ensure project equipment requirements are resourced correctly.
• Act as the initial point of contact for all daily operations in the workshop.
• Installation, integration, and commissioning of equipment on customer onshore and offshore sites.
• Identify, through diagnostic fault-finding, issues with on-site equipment and issue fault reports.
• Complete end of project reports, timesheets, and expense forms promptly upon return.
• Support business with out of hours working as required.
