Job summary

Pharos Generator Services is seeking a General Manager/Operations Director to lead UK-wide operations with regular travel to regional offices and sites. This full-time, permanent role reports to the Managing Director and focuses on operational leadership, performance and customer service.

You will drive continuous improvement, manage Regional Service Managers, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, and balance strategic thinking with hands‑on execution to support growth across regions.

Qualifications

• Senior operational leadership experience in engineering/power generation/facilities management.
• Experience managing multi-site operations and operational management teams.
• Strong leadership and people management capabilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Commercial awareness with experience supporting business growth and operational performance.
• Proven ability to deliver operational improvements and organisational change.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operational performance of the business.
• Support the delivery of company objectives, strategic plans and growth initiatives.
• Develop and implement systems, processes and procedures to improve operational effectiveness.
• Monitor operational performance, technician utilisation and service delivery standards.
• Ensure resources are effectively deployed to meet customer requirements and business objectives.
• Support operational scalability as the business continues to grow.
• Lead, develop and mentor Regional Service Managers and operational leaders.
• Build a high-performing culture focused on accountability, engagement and continuous improvement.
• Support recruitment, succession planning and talent development across the business.
• Conduct performance reviews and support management development initiatives.
• Encourage collaboration and communication across regional teams and departments.
