Great Bear, part of the Culina Group, is recruiting an Operations Controller at Deeside. The role supports day-to-day warehouse operations, ensuring inbound/outbound schedules run efficiently and drivers are managed effectively.

Working 4 on 4 off days (7am–7pm), you will liaise with drivers, issue instructions, and maintain precise outbound paperwork while contributing to improvements and team success.

Qualifications

• Proven experience within a similar fast-paced role.
• Ability to prioritise work based on scheduling and available resources.
• PC literate in Word, Excel and Outlook with high attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently managing outbound schedule to meet collection/delivery times.
• Issuing instructions to staff to maintain smooth inbound/outbound flow.
• Maintain accuracy of paperwork for outbound vehicles.
• Primary on-site contact for drivers.
• Communicate issues to Shift Managers promptly to minimise disruption.
• Contribute to problem solving and efficiency improvements.
• Coordinate with transport providers to avoid late collections.
• Provide thorough handover to next shift with current state of play.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Operations Controller to join our team in Deeside on a full time permanent basis.

Salary:£27,555 per annum, plus £2,000 shift allowance.

Working hours:4 on 4 off days, 7am-7pm.

As the Operations Controller, you will contribute to the success of the site by supporting the day-to-day running of the warehouse, ensuring that all schedules for inbound receipts and outbound loads are run efficiently.

Responsibilities of the Operations Controller include:

• Efficiently managing the outbound schedule to ensure collection and delivery times are met.
• Issuing instructions to designated staff to maintain a smooth flow of inbound and outbound work.
• Controlling paperwork for outbound vehicles, ensuring 100% accuracy.
• Being the initial point of contact for all drivers arriving on site.
• Communicating issues to Shift Managers in a timely manner to minimise disruption to the schedule.
• Participating as an active member of the operations team, and to offer suggestions for solving problems, improving efficiency, customer and quality focus.
• Maintaining good communication with transport providers to ensure late collections and delivery failures are avoided.
• Producing a thorough, detailed handover to the following shift highlighting potential issues, reminders and current state of play.

• Proven experience within a similar fast-paced role.
• Ability to prioritise work based on scheduling and available resources.
• PC literate in Word, Excel and Outlook with the ability to demonstrate a high level of attention to detail.
• Must be a team player who is capable of working on your own initiative.
• Able to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of on-site systems.
• Experience and good working knowledge of Autostore and RF kit.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to demonstrate a courteous and professional attitude towards customers and third party hauliers.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to solve problems.
