Job summary

Gallagher, a leading provider in the Specialty division, seeks a Senior Operations Control Associate in London to strengthen first-line risk governance and controls across the business. You will collaborate with three lines of defence to embed best practices and drive continuous improvement.

You will engage senior stakeholders, ensure robust procedures, and support important governance initiatives across global operations with a local impact.

Qualifications

• Experience in operations, risk, compliance, or back/middle-office environments.
• Strong understanding of governance, controls and regulatory frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of第一 line risk operating model across Specialty.
• Collaborate with 2nd and 3rd line teams for oversight and governance.
• Maintain SOPs, templates and checklists for consistency.
• Own process control artefacts and conduct QA activities.
• Support governance tools and product governance processes.
• Identify trends, perform root-cause analysis and drive improvements.

Job description

We’re looking for a Senior Operations Control Associate to join our Specialty division, supporting the continued development and delivery of our first line risk framework. This is a key role within the business, acting as an Operations specialist to ensure effective governance, oversight and control across the division. You’ll work closely with stakeholders across the three lines of defence to embed best practice, minimise risk, and drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting the delivery and enhancement of the first line risk operating model across Specialty
• Building strong relationships with 2nd and 3rd line teams to ensure effective collaboration and oversight
• Maintaining and reviewing Standard Operating Procedures, ensuring accuracy and consistency
• Owning and maintaining process control artefacts, including templates and checklists
• Conducting quality assurance activities, including file reviews and audits
• Supporting governance frameworks and tools, including product governance processes
• Identifying trends, carrying out root cause analysis, and driving continuous improvement initiatives
• Supporting key projects to ensure appropriate risk assessment and control implementation

About You

• Experience within operations, risk, compliance, or a middle/back-office environment
• Strong understanding of operational controls, governance, and regulatory frameworks
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders
• Highly organised with a proactive, solutions-focused approach
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
• Confident presenting and working with senior management
• High level of integrity and attention to detail
• Strong MS Office skills
• Professional qualifications ( CII) or working towards Compensation and benefits
