Our focus is on the finance needs of residential property developers, and we are an acknowledged leader in the provision of high-quality finance and an established player in the rapidly growing private debt/credit sector.

We've grown rapidly, robustly and carefully, and we're now in a dynamic scale-up phase. As a fully FCA regulated business, operational, governance, risk and control requirements are a key focus for us.

The role

We're looking for an Operations Associate to join our Operations team. Sitting at the centre of the business, you'll be the connective tissue between Finance, Portfolio Management, Lending and Credit, helping the Operations team deliver its work accurately and on time.

You'll work hands-on alongside the rest of the team to carry out the work, while coordinating with colleagues across the business to keep it moving. That gives the Operations Manager confidence that everything is running to a high standard of quality and accuracy.

What you'll do

Coordinate across the business

• Act as the point of coordination between Operations and the wider business, running regular touchpoints and keeping everyone aligned on priorities and deadlines
• Chase and clarify dependencies directly with other teams, and resolve issues before they become blockers
• Build strong working relationships with Finance, Portfolio Management, Lending and Credit
• Represent the business professionally to investors, borrowers and service providers

Keep the team running smoothly

• Support the day-to-day running of the Operations team, helping to manage workload and priorities across Operations, Finance, Portfolio Management, Lending and Credit
• Keep the Operations Manager informed on how the team is performing, monitoring quality, accuracy, timeliness and compliance
• Flag risks, bottlenecks and conflicting demands early, so they can be dealt with before they affect delivery

Get stuck into the operational work

• Work hands-on alongside the Operations team to carry out the daily, weekly and monthly operational tasks, picking up work, supporting colleagues and stepping in where needed to meet deadlines
• Carry out and support the core operational activities of the business, including investor operations, loan administration, documentation, and data and control processes
• Help ensure accuracy, timeliness and compliance with FCA requirements and internal policy

Support audit and reporting

• Support audit and reporting processes, maintaining clear records and evidence of controls

Help us improve and prepare for growth

• Identify operational improvements, from streamlining workflows and strengthening monitoring to suggesting new technologies and best practice
• Contribute to the Operations Manager's longer-term plans, including how standards are maintained and improved over time
• Help the team stay resilient through contingency planning, and think through how it copes as the business grows

What we're looking for

• 2-4 years of experience in an operations, coordination, analyst or similar role, ideally within financial services or another regulated environment
• Experience supporting the day-to-day work of an operational function or team, with real care for quality, accuracy and outcomes
• Experience coordinating across multiple teams and stakeholders, handling competing demands and keeping a fast-moving workload on track
• Proactive and confident in going directly to other teams to chase, clarify and resolve
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with the credibility to work with managers and cross-functional teams
• A collaborative approach and sound judgement, and comfortable working as part of a small team
• Analytical thinking: the ability to spot what is and isn't working and suggest practical improvements
• Meticulous attention to detail in a regulated environment
• Desirable: familiarity with Jira or similar task management tools, HubSpot or similar CRM systems, and experience supporting audit and reporting processes
