Job summary

Coopman Search and Selection is delighted to partner with a leading global hedge fund in London to recruit an ambitious Operations professional with 1-3 years' experience. You will join an established team responsible for trade support, settlements, reconciliations and the wider trade lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years' experience in investment operations or trade support.
• Experience with reconciliations, settlements or trade support.
• Strong understanding of the trade lifecycle and financial markets.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Confident communicator, able to work with internal teams and counterparties.
• Proactive and eager to develop a hedge fund operations career.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day trade support across the trade lifecycle.
• Perform cash, position and trade reconciliations, investigating and resolving breaks.
• Support the timely settlement of trades across global markets.
• Investigate failed and unmatched trades, liaising with brokers, custodians and counterparties.
• Work closely with Portfolio Managers, Traders and internal teams to resolve operational queries.
• Maintain accurate trade and operational records and support wider Operations projects.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational processes and controls.

Coopman Search and Selection are delighted to be partnering exclusively with a leading global hedge fund with a strong track record across global financial markets and investment strategies.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Operations professional with 1-3 years' experience to join an established and highly sophisticated investment business.

Reporting directly to the Head of Ops in London, you will be part of a collaborative Operations function with responsibility across trade support, settlements, reconciliations and the wider trade lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide day-to-day trade support across the full trade lifecycle.
• Perform cash, position and trade reconciliations, investigating and resolving breaks.
• Support the timely settlement of trades across global markets.
• Investigate failed and unmatched trades, liaising with brokers, custodians and counterparties.
• Work closely with Portfolio Managers, Traders and internal teams to resolve operational queries.
• Maintain accurate trade and operational records and support wider Operations projects.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational processes and controls.

Experience Required:

• 1-3 years' experience in investment operations, middle office, trade support, settlements or a similar financial services role.
• Experience with reconciliations, settlements and/or trade support.
• Good understanding of the trade lifecycle and financial markets.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
• Confident communicator, comfortable working with internal teams and external counterparties.
• Good Excel skills; experience with Eze or other OMS/EMS and reconciliation systems would be beneficial.
• Proactive, analytical and keen to develop a career within a hedge fund environment.
