Job summary

University of Warwick’s Mathematics Institute is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead and develop key areas across the department. You will oversee doctoral programmes, the Mathematics Research Centre, the Mathematics Outreach Centre, departmental facilities and strategic projects.

This broad role requires someone who can bring structure to busy environments, solve problems, and work with people to make things better.

The Warwick Mathematics Institute is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead and develop key areas across the department. This varied role oversees doctoral programmes, the Mathematics Research Centre, the Mathematics Outreach Centre, departmental facilities, and strategic projects. Working closely with academic and professional services colleagues, you will lead operational teams, drive continuous improvement, support future planning, and help provide an excellent environment for research, learning and outreach. This is a broad role, and no two days will look the same. It would suit someone who enjoys bringing structure to busy environments, solving problems, and working with people to make things better.

About You

You will be an experienced manager with a track record of leading teams, delivering projects and managing competing priorities. Comfortable operating both strategically and operationally, you will build strong relationships across a diverse range of people and communicate effectively at all levels.

We're looking for someone who is organised, proactive and adaptable, with excellent problem-solving skills and a commitment to continuous improvement. Experience of project management in a higher education or similar environment, managing budgets and using data to inform decision-making will help you succeed in this role.

£47,389 to £56,535 per annum
