Job summary

Systematica Group in London seeks an Operations Analyst to join the Operations & Treasury team. You will support trade lifecycle management from execution to reconciliation, collateral and treasury activities, across various asset classes.

The role emphasizes process improvement, interfacing with fund administrators, prime brokers and vendors while maintaining strong controls and delivering accurate reporting.

Qualifications

• Degree-level education or equivalent.
• IOC or IMC accreditation preferred.
• Experience in operations at a fund administrator, investment bank or investment manager.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with DTCC, ICELink, Markit MTM, MarkitWire, Tradeweb, Traiana or Bloomberg advantageous.
• Proficient in Microsoft 365, Excel; able to explore AI tools responsibly.

Responsibilities

• Process, control and improve operations from trade execution through to settlement and treasury.
• Manage cash processing and payment of margin, trading costs and fees.
• Review and process margin calls ensuring timely payments.
• Complete trade, position and cash reconciliations; resolve breaks.
• Provide ad hoc reporting and respond to queries.
• Review, process and track fund invoices.
• Identify automation opportunities to improve efficiency and controls.
• Maintain relationships with outsourced administrators, prime brokers and vendors.

Operations Analyst

Department: Operations & Treasury

Location: London

Description

The Operations team is based in London and consists of seven people. The team manages the firm’s trade lifecycle, from trade capture and reconciliation through to trade events, settlement, corporate actions, compression, collateral and treasury.

Products traded by Systematica include bonds, CFDs, credit derivatives, equities, equity swaps, futures and listed options, FX forwards and options, and interest rate swaps.

Key Responsibilities

• Process, control and improve Systematica’s operations from trade execution through to fund administrators and external counterparties, across three principal areas:
  1) Trade management, including trade flows and lifecycle events;
  2) Trade reconciliation; and
  3) Post-trade activities, including collateral and treasury.
• Manage cash processing, ensuring the accurate recording and payment of margin, trading costs and fees;
• Review and process margin calls, ensuring amounts are accurate and payments are made and received on time;
• Complete trade, position and cash reconciliations, investigating and resolving breaks;
• Resolve position and trade queries and provide ad hoc reporting;
• Review, process and track fund invoices;
• Identify and implement process automation opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy and operational controls;
• Maintain effective relationships with outsourced administrators, prime brokers, executing brokers and vendors, including oversight of outsourced settlement and reconciliation activities; and
• Maintain robust operational controls, proactively identify operational risks and mitigate or resolve them as appropriate.
  General
• Undertake any other duties commensurate with the post holder’s position and seniority; and
• Take personal responsibility for complying with all organisational, statutory and regulatory policies and procedures.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
• Demonstrable operations experience at a fund administrator, investment bank or investment manager;
• Experience with one or more of DTCC, ICELink, Markit MTM, MarkitWire, Tradeweb, Traiana or Bloomberg would be advantageous; and

Proficient in Microsoft 365 tools, particularly Excel, with a curious and proactive approach to exploring AI-based tools, critically assessing their outputs and using them responsibly in line with firm policies on confidentiality and data security.

Educational & Professional Qualifications

• Educated to degree level or equivalent; and
• IOC or IMC accreditation preferred.
