Job summary

Edwards UK in Bristol is seeking an Operational Buyer (Temporary) to maintain supplier performance, raise POs, and optimize replenishment in a hybrid UK role.

You will work with MRP to expedite, defer or cancel orders, issue RFQs, and resolve delivery and invoicing issues while collaborating with Engineering on obsolescence and concessions. A prior 2–3 years in procurement and CIPS level 4 are valued.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years experience in procurement.
• Experience with sourcing for NPI, outsourcing and CI projects.
• CIPS level 4 or equivalent qualification or equivalent through experience.
• Experience interfacing with internal customers and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Raising purchase orders through various methods and channels.
• Reacting to MRP system messages to expedite, defer or cancel open order lines.
• Issuing RFQs, drawing releases, analysing quotes and setting up new part replenishment profile.
• Resolve issues relating to accuracy of deliveries, quality rejects, invoice queries, overdue orders and production shortages.
• Identifying savings opportunities through benchmarking, value engineering & optimising replenishment methods.
• Working with Engineering to manage obsolete and replacement parts. Raising temporary permits (concessions) and engineering changes.

As a Operational Buyer - Temporary, your mission is to personally responsible for ensuring continued supplier performance (on time delivery, cost and quality) within their portfolio of suppliers. You will report to a Senior Buyer.

You will

• Raising purchase orders through various methods and channels.
• Reacting to MRP system messages to expedite, defer or cancel open order lines.
• Issuing RFQs, drawing releases, analysing quotes and setting up new part replenishment profile.
• Resolve issues relating to accuracy of deliveries, quality rejects, invoice queries, overdue orders and production shortages.
