Job summary

Edwards Vacuum in Bristol, United Kingdom, is seeking an Operational Buyer (Temporary) to ensure supplier performance including on-time delivery, cost and quality. The role is hybrid, combining remote work with on-site presence.

You will raise purchase orders, respond to MRP messages, issue RFQs, and drive savings while coordinating with Engineering on obsolescence and changes. CIPS Level 4 or equivalent and 2–3 years procurement experience are expected.

• Experience with sourcing side of New Product Introduction, Outsourcing and Continuous Improvement Projects.

Responsibilities

• Working with Engineering to manage obsolete and replacement parts. Raising temporary permits (concessions) and engineering changes.

Your role

As a Operational Buyer - Temporary, your mission is to personally responsible for ensuring continued supplier performance (on time delivery, cost and quality) within their portfolio of suppliers. You will report to a Senior Buyer.

You will

• Raising purchase orders through various methods and channels.
• Reacting to MRP system messages to expedite, defer or cancel open order lines.
• Issuing RFQs, drawing releases, analysing quotes and setting up new part replenishment profile.
