Job summary

Hiddenwell is opening a brand-new Mediterranean restaurant and seeks a reliable Kitchen Porter to join the opening team. You will support chefs, maintain cleanliness, and ensure equipment is ready for service.

You'll train in food hygiene, allergens, COSHH and safe working practices while helping establish standards from day one. There are opportunities for growth into kitchen roles as the restaurant develops.

Qualifications

• No formal kitchen experience required; previous kitchen or hospitality experience would be useful, but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Keep pot-wash and dishwashing areas clean and running efficiently.
• Clean crockery, cutlery, utensils, pots, pans and kitchen equipment.
• Make sure chefs have clean equipment available when they need it.
• Maintain high cleanliness standards throughout the kitchen.
• Complete daily cleaning and end-of-shift close-down duties.
• Follow food hygiene, allergen, Health & Safety and COSHH procedures.
• Help keep storage and waste areas clean and organised.
• Support recycling and sustainability procedures.
• Report equipment faults, breakages or safety concerns promptly.
• Assist the kitchen team during busy services.
• Assist with deliveries, stock organisation and basic food preparation (where trained).
• Participate in training and preparations ahead of the restaurant opening.
