A leading highways maintenance company seeks an experienced SHEQ Advisor to support high-speed road networks in Yorkshire. This hands-on role involves conducting safety inspections, advising on RAMS, and ensuring compliance with regulations. Qualifications

• Proven experience as a SHEQ / Health & Safety Advisor within highways or civils.
• Strong knowledge of highways maintenance and live, high-speed road environments.
• Confident operating independently on site.

Responsibilities

• Deliver regular SHEQ / OSH site inspections.
• Maintain a visible, practical safety presence on site.
• Engage and influence operatives and supervisors on safe systems of work.
• Review and advise on RAMS and task briefings.
• Support incident and near-miss investigations.

Skills

Strong communication and influencing skills

Education

NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (or equivalent)

IOSH membership (TechIOSH / GradIOSH preferred)
