Job description

Health & Safety Advisor

Location: Yorkshire - with travel across regional sites
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 + Company Vehicle + Benefits

Assured Safety Recruitment is working with an established organisation operating across the construction and infrastructure sectors to recruit a Health & Safety Advisor to support its operations across Yorkshire.

This is a varied, site-based role offering the opportunity to work closely with operational teams across a range of projects. You'll provide practical Health & Safety advice and support, helping to maintain high standards, identify areas for improvement and promote a positive approach to safety across the business.

The Role

Working closely with managers, supervisors and site teams, you'll provide day-to-day Health & Safety support across multiple operational sites and projects.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out regular site inspections, audits and safety observations.
  • Providing practical Health & Safety advice and guidance to operational teams.
  • Reviewing and supporting the development of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
  • Investigating accidents, incidents and near misses and supporting appropriate corrective actions.
  • Producing clear reports, findings and recommendations following site visits and audits.
  • Delivering toolbox talks, inductions and safety briefings.
  • Supporting managers and supervisors in maintaining high standards of Health & Safety compliance.
  • Monitoring training, competency and other Health & Safety requirements.
  • Engaging with site teams to promote safe working practices and positively challenge where improvements are required.
  • Supporting the development and implementation of Health & Safety procedures and initiatives.
  • Liaising with clients, contractors and other stakeholders as required.
About You

We're looking for someone with practical Health & Safety experience gained within construction, utilities, civil engineering, infrastructure or a similarly operational environment.

You will ideally have:

  • A NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate.
  • A good working knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation.
  • Experience carrying out site inspections and audits.
  • A practical understanding of RAMS and safe systems of work.
  • The confidence to engage effectively with site operatives, supervisors, managers and clients.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A proactive, pragmatic and solutions-focused approach to Health & Safety.
  • Good organisational and report-writing skills.
  • A full UK driving licence.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Health & Safety professional who enjoys being out on site and working directly with operational teams. You'll join an established business where you can have a genuine influence on safety standards while continuing to develop your own experience and career.
