Job summary

Babcock is seeking a SHE Advisor to provide assurance, governance and specialist advice across Devonport Royal Dockyard and related sites. You will conduct audits, identify improvement opportunities, and support safe, compliant delivery within a complex defence and engineering environment.

Day-to-day you’ll produce audit reports, engage with regulators and stakeholders, and help drive continuous improvement of health, safety and environmental management systems. 35 hours per week, on site.

Qualifications

• Auditing health and safety across complex operations.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation, standards and contracts.
• Experience identifying non-compliance and reporting clear audit findings.
• Ability to build effective working relationships with managers, employees and suppliers.
• Experience engaging with external authorities such as HSE, fire service and regulators.

Responsibilities

• Carry out health and safety audits across diverse operations and supplier environments.
• Identify compliance and non-compliance issues with clear feedback and improvement actions.
• Produce audit reports and management information to support decision-making.
• Support deployment and continual improvement of health, safety and environmental management systems.
• Engage with managers, employees, suppliers and regulators to promote safe practices.
