Job summary

RG Setsquare seeks a Maintenance Mechanical Engineer to join a client team across Cheshire. You will work unaided or lead subcontractors, performing high quality reports and ensuring safety compliance. Essential mechanical and electrical qualifications, 18th Edition, and BMS/HVAC experience are required.

This role demands robust health and safety knowledge, PTW familiarity, and the ability to manage workload while meeting KPIs and SLAs. A strong customer‑facing capability is important.

Qualifications

• Recognised mechanical qualifications are essential.
• Recognised electrical qualifications are essential.
• 18th Edition wiring regs are essential.
• City & Guilds 2391/2394/2395 are desirable.
• AP status within 3 months (EQUANS LV and Mechanical rules).
• First Aid at Work is desirable.
• Experience fault-finding with BMS, LTHW/CLTHW, pumps, motors, HVAC, LV power.
• Experience with cooling towers is desirable.
• IPAF certification for 3a/3b machines is desirable.
• Understanding of L8 ACOP and robust health & safety knowledge.
• Knowledge of Permit to Work system is desirable.

• Work unaided and build rapports with end users and customers.
• Promote EQUANS values while delivering high standards of service.
• Maintain quality standards across mechanical and plumbing domains.
• Communicate effectively with customers at site level and report findings.
