Job summary

OraSure Technologies, Inc. seeks an onsite Laboratory Technician I in Cambridge to assist in conducting tests, analyzing samples and maintaining equipment. The role emphasizes SOP adherence, batch record keeping and collaboration with R&D and manufacturing teams.

The candidate should have a biology background with 0–1 years of experience, familiarity with GLP/ISO13485/GMP, and experience with lab tools such as pipettes, centrifuges, and laminar flow hoods. This is an onsite position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in biological sciences with 0-1 years of experience.
• Awareness of GLP, ISO13485, and GMP quality standards.
• Experience following work instructions or SOPs.
• Experience with laboratory equipment including pipettes, centrifuges, laminar flowhoods, etc.
• Experience with lateral flow strip manufacturing equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Fabrication of lateral flow strips per established procedures and maintaining batch records.
• Routine preparation and qualification of biochemical reagents for development and manufacturing.
• Assembly of devices and management of device parts stock.
• Assist in development, optimization and scale up of manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements.
• Conduct root cause analyses and implement corrective actions as necessary.
• Documentation and communication: prepare data, protocols and test reports.
• Develop SOPs with R&D and broader Operations.
• Physical ability to lift 15 kg; standing may be required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
