Job summary

OraSure Technologies Inc. in Cambridge, UK (via Sherlock Biosciences) seeks a Laboratory Technician I to assist in conducting laboratory tests, analyze samples, and maintain equipment and records.

This onsite role requires attention to detail and adherence to SOPs in both R&D and production contexts. You will fabricate lateral flow strips, prepare reagents, assemble devices, support process development and scale-up, and work with cross-functional teams to drive manufacturing improvements while

Qualifications

• Awareness of GLP, ISO13485, and GMP quality standards.
• Experience following work instructions or SOPs.
• Previous experience with laboratory equipment including pipettes, centrifuges, and laminar flow hoods.

Responsibilities

• Fabrication of lateral flow strips per established procedures and maintain batch records.
• Routine preparation and qualification of biochemical reagents for process development and manufacturing.
• Assembly of devices per work instructions to support device development and future technologies; manage device parts stock.
• Assist in development, optimization and scale-up of manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements for optimized manufacturing operations.
• Conduct investigations and root-cause analyses to address deviations and implement corrective actions.
• Document and communicate results; author protocols and test reports.
• Develop work instructions and SOPs with R&D and Operations teams.
• Must be able to lift 15 kg; standing may be required.
