Job summary

OraSure Technologies Inc. (OTI) and Sherlock Biosciences in Cambridge, UK, are seeking a Laboratory Technician I to assist with laboratory tests, sample analysis and equipment maintenance, following SOPs for both R&D and production.

The role involves fabricating lateral flow strips, preparing reagents, and supporting process improvements on an onsite basis. The position requires attention to detail, ability to work cross-functionally, and strong documentation skills to ensure compliance with

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in biological sciences; 0–1 year experience; preferred 1–2 years in life sciences manufacturing.
• Familiarity with GLP, ISO13485 and GMP quality standards.
• Experience following SOPs and work instructions.
• Experience with lab equipment (pipettes, centrifuges, laminar flow hoods).
• Experience with lateral flow strip manufacturing equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate lateral flow strips per established procedures and maintain batch records.
• Prepare and qualify biochemical reagents for process development and manufacturing per SOPs.
• Assemble devices and manage device parts stock to support manufacturing.
• Assist in development, optimization and scale-up of manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and ensure efficient operations.
• Document data, analyze results and communicate findings; author protocols and test reports.
