Job summary

Apex Resource Management is seeking an IT Support Engineer to provide on-site support across office and manufacturing environments in the UK. The role involves face-to-face technical assistance, incident resolution, and user support in a modern enterprise IT environment.

It is a site-based position five days a week with occasional travel to other UK locations. Responsibilities include incident management via helpdesk, 1st/2nd line support, escalation when needed, and documentation of procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting Windows 11 and Microsoft 365 environments.
• Proficient with Microsoft Teams and Microsoft 365 administration.
• Experience with Active Directory and group policy management.
• Knowledge of endpoint security platforms (e.g., Defender, Sophos, SentinelOne).
• Experience with deployment tools such as WDS/MDT.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical abilities.
• Clear communication to non-technical users.
• Ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple requests.
• Willingness to travel UK sites occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary contact for IT incidents via helpdesk, phone and email.
• Diagnose and resolve 1st/2nd line IT issues within SLAs.
• Escalate complex issues to specialists or suppliers.
• Document incidents, resolutions and procedures clearly.
• Build, configure and deploy desktops, laptops and mobile devices.
• Manage endpoint lifecycles, including refreshes and asset tracking.
• Deploy operating systems using MDT/WDS or equivalent.
• Install and support printers, scanners and conferencing equipment.
• Provide 1st/2nd line support for LAN/WAN and wireless.
• Assist with Cisco switching and wireless administration.
