Job summary

The Recruitment Group is looking for an experienced Project Installation Manager to lead site-based engineering installation projects in Rugby. You will supervise installation activities from planning through to handover, coordinating engineers, fabricators, welders and subcontractors to deliver on time and to the required standards.

This hands-on role requires reading engineering drawings, planning labour and materials, and communicating with customers to provide regular updates.

Qualifications

• Hands-on engineering background with site exposure.
• Experience coordinating installation teams.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Familiar with fabrication, welding and mechanical installation processes.
• Strong planning and organisation to manage installations.
• Willing to travel to customer sites.
• Full UK driving licence essential.
• SMSTS/SSSTS or CSCS would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage engineering and installation projects from planning through to completion and handover.
• Attend customer sites to carry out surveys, measurements and pre‑installation checks.
• Read and interpret engineering, fabrication and installation drawings.
• Plan labour, materials, equipment, access requirements and installation sequences.
• Coordinate engineers, fabricators, welders, fitters and subcontractors.
• Liaise with workshop and production teams to ensure fabricated components are ready for installation.
• Supervise installation teams and provide practical support on site.
• Monitor project progress, deadlines, workmanship and quality standards.
• Identify and resolve technical and practical installation issues.
• Liaise directly with customers and provide regular project updates.
• Manage project variations and additional works.
• Ensure installations meet drawings, specifications and customer requirements.
• Manage RAMS, site inductions, permits and Health & Safety requirements.
• Carry out final inspections, snagging and project handovers.
• Maintain accurate project records and site documentation.
