Job summary

Amey in Surrey is seeking a permanent HGV Technician to maintain and repair a range of heavy goods vehicles, ensuring safety, DVSA compliance and reliability. You will diagnose faults using advanced tools, perform routine maintenance, and prepare vehicles for MOT inspections while supporting road-side breakdowns.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance and repair of heavy goods vehicles.
• Familiarity with COSHH regulations and environmental best practices.
• Certifications such as City & Guilds IRTEC or NVQ preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilising advanced diagnostic tools to accurately identify faults and perform effective repairs.
• Dismantling and overhauling vehicle components to restore optimal condition.
• Performing routine maintenance across diverse vehicles and plant equipment.
• Carrying out road tests to verify safety and performance of vehicles.
• Assisting with roadside breakdowns to minimise downtime.
• Upholding health and safety policies in all work activities.
