Job summary

Government Recruitment Service in Kidsgrove is seeking a Verification Assurance Officer to join a new frontline team within Jobcentre and Service Centres. You will interview claimants, verify documents and help prevent fraud from entering the welfare system.

The role requires face-to-face work from a Jobcentre; hybrid and home working are not offered. Frequent travel between sites may be required. Salary £32,137 per year, full-time, permanent, with the Disability Confident employer scheme.

Qualifications

• Experience in frontline fraud prevention and verification processes is desirable.
• Strong interviewing and communication skills for dealing with claimants.
• Ability to collate and maintain accurate management information (MI).

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial and further evidence interviews and verification activities with Jobcentre colleagues.
• Assess documents for verification of Identification, housing costs, and childcare elements of Universal Credit.
• Lead customer education sessions on responsibilities and consequences of non-compliance.
• Provide feedback on trends of fraud and contribute to risk intelligence teams.
