Job summary

Government Recruitment Service is recruiting a Verification Assurance Officer to join a new frontline fraud prevention team in Skipton. The role focuses on preventing fraud from entering the welfare system and strengthening verification controls on the front line.

You will interview claimants and colleagues, educate customers on responsibilities, and collaborate face-to-face with Jobcentre staff. Travel between sites may be needed; hybrid/home working is not available.

Qualifications

• Experience in interviews to verify documents for Universal Credit components.
• Ability to educate customers on responsibilities and fraud prevention.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Jobcentre and Service Centre colleagues conducting initial evidence interviews and verification activities.
• Conduct robust interviews where there is a suspicion on the validity of documents for verification of Identification, housing costs, children and childcare costs elements of Universal Credit.
• Conduct review meetings with customers where evidence is brought in relating to their claim to a Jobcentre.
• Provide regular feedback at office meetings on trends, patterns of fraud and how to detect them; feed information into specialist risk and intelligence teams.
• Lead customer education sessions with Jobcentre colleagues to clarify customer responsibilities and consequences of non-compliance.
• Collate and maintain accurate Management Information (MI) as directed by analysts and performance teams.
