Job summary

Polaris Education - Selwyn Hall School in Foxton, Cambridgeshire, seeks a dedicated One-to-One Teaching Assistant for a fixed-term 1-year contract (37.5 hours/week, term-time only). Basic salary ranges £21,257.48 to £23,232.69 per year.

The role involves mentoring a pupil or small group, supporting the class teacher, reporting on progress, supervising during non-class time, and helping with lesson planning and preparation. An enhanced DBS check will be funded by the school.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Mathematics at minimum grade C or equivalent.
• Strong IT skills and the ability to use school systems.
• Previous experience in a similar role as a Teaching Assistant is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and support one pupil or a small group of up to six.
• Support the classroom teacher during lessons.
• Report on pupils' progress and liaise with staff to meet needs.
• Supervise pupils during non-classroom times, including activities and trips.
• Assist with lesson planning and classroom preparation.
• Set work where appropriate and mark.
