Job summary

The Christie NHS Foundation Trust in Manchester is seeking a Band 5 Staff Nurse for the Outpatients Department, specialising in oncology. You will work across two outpatient areas, supporting admissions, dressings, injections and patient assessments, while maintaining high standards of compassionate, evidence-based care.

You will support phlebotomy services after training and liaise with staff at Bloods Closer to Home sites to ensure safe, consistent practice across services.

Qualifications

• Experience in outpatient nursing.
• Competent in venepuncture, injections and dressings.
• Ability to work across two outpatient areas and support admissions.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centred care in the outpatient setting.
• Support clinicians in assessment, treatment and management of patients.
• Undertake dressings, injections and other procedures within competency.
• Adhere to the NMC Code of Conduct and ensure safe, ethical practice.
• Contribute to the smooth flow of patients through clinics.
• Liaise with Bloods Closer to Home staff and participate in phlebotomy after training.
• Maintain accurate patient records and work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
