Job summary

Saga Cruises is seeking two experienced 3rd Engineers to join the vessels SPIRIT OF ADVENDURE and SPIRIT OF DISCOVERY on a 3 months on/off rotation. Embarkation is scheduled for 10 October 2026. Candidates must hold STCW95 and CoC A-III/1, with extensive engine room experience on passenger ships.

The role requires strong references, English proficiency, and the ability to work in a safety‑driven, multi‑national crew environment. Contract-based position aboard cruise ships.

Qualifications

• Valid STCW95 certification.
• Valid CoC A-III/1.
• Experience on board passenger ships in a similar role, preferably with Wartsila engines.
• Physically and medically fit.
• Strong reading of technical drawings and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an engine room watch while at sea, in port, and at anchorage under safety rules.
• Lead safe operation of Main and Auxiliary engines and monitor control systems.
• Perform repairs and maintenance inside and outside the Engine Room per company policies.
• Coordinate with technical parties and departments to ensure vessel reliability.
• Assist Chief Engineer and manage watchkeeping duties as required.
