Job summary

Matchtech is seeking a Field Support Representative for Training & Simulation Systems based at Bovington, Dorset. The role involves on-site delivery, operation and maintenance of advanced military training systems for UK Land Forces.

You will be the primary on-site representative, supporting instructors and end users while ensuring equipment remains operational and available. Strong fault-finding, customer focus and solid technical knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong technical aptitude with proven fault-finding and troubleshooting experience.
• Experience supporting technical equipment, systems or software in an operational environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to explain technical issues clearly to both technical and non-technical users.
• Customer-focused approach with strong relationship-building skills.
• IT literate and comfortable learning new technologies and systems.
• Ability to prioritise work effectively and work with minimal supervision.
• Experience recording, managing and escalating technical faults.
• Strong organisational and reporting skills.
• Military experience, particularly within technical, communications or support environments.

Responsibilities

• Deliver training support using advanced simulation and synthetic training systems.
• Act as the main point of contact for users, instructors and customers during training activities.
• Carry out routine equipment inspections, maintenance and fault-finding activities.
• Diagnose technical issues, provide first-line resolution where possible, and escalat e complex faults to engineering teams.
• Ensure training systems remain operational, available and fit for purpose.
• Support equipment installations, upgrades, testing and site acceptance activities.
• Produce training and post-exercise reports, capturing lessons learned and performance data.
• Build strong working relationships with military personnel and key stakeholders.
• Monitor system performance and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support the onboarding and mentoring of new team members when required.
