Job summary

Amey is seeking an on-site Painter & Decorator at HMP Morton Hall in Lincolnshire. The role offers a salary of £28,792 to £33,352 plus a 15% weekend allowance for 1 in 3 weekend rota, working 39 hours weekly from 8am to 4:30pm.

You will join the Facilities Management team, supervising prisoners and delivering high-quality painting work in a secure environment, contributing to safer and more decent living conditions.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Painting and Decorating.
• Previous painting and decorating experience.
• A proactive and responsible approach to delivering safe, high-quality work.
• Good understanding of personal health and safety, method statements and risk assessments.
• Confidence to work alongside prisoners in a secure environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver planned and reactive painting and decorating work throughout the prison.
• Help improve living conditions by completing work safely and to a high standard.
• Supervise and guide prisoners as they develop practical, hands-on employability skills.
• Maintain tools, materials and other company property responsibly.
• Follow health and safety policies, method statements and risk assessments.
• Support local and business zero-carbon programmes where appropriate.
