Amey is seeking an on-site Painter & Decorator for HMP Long Lartin. The role offers a salary of £28,792 to £33,352, with 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday. You will supervise prisoners while delivering high-quality painting work, contributing to a safe and decent prison environment and rehabilitation activities.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Painting and Decorating.
• Previous painting and decorating experience.
• Proactive and responsible approach to delivering safe, high-quality work.
• Good understanding of health and safety, method statements and risk assessments.
• Confidence and professionalism to work alongside prisoners in a secure environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver planned and reactive painting and decorating work throughout the prison.
• Help improve living conditions by completing work safely and to a high standard.
• Supervise and guide prisoners as they develop practical, hands-on employability skills.
• Maintain tools, materials and other company property responsibly.
• Follow relevant health and safety policies, instructions, method statements and risk assessments.
• Support local and business zero-carbon programmes where appropriate.
