Job summary

AWD online is seeking a Maintenance Engineer in Birmingham to own planned and reactive maintenance on narrow-aisle high-bay cranes and conveyors within a busy manufacturing and warehouse setting.

The role covers mechanical and electrical work, including drives, bearings, gearing and roller systems, with inverter and PLC control programming and a focus on downtime reduction and service levels. PLC knowledge (Siemens) is highly desirable for this technically varied site.

Qualifications

• Electrical and mechanical maintenance experience required.
• Strong fault-finding and technical knowledge.
• Ability to prioritise workloads and work under deadlines.
• Good computer literacy and understanding of warehouse management systems.
• Experience with high-bay crane systems and conveyors preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and overhaul high-bay cranes, drives, bearings, gearing and rollers.
• Respond to breakdowns within SLAs and diagnose faults.
• Perform electrical repairs, installations and upgrades to standards.
• Program inverters and control systems as required.
• Ensure PPM activity is up to date and accurate.
• Collaborate with warehouse management to minimise delays.
