Job summary

AWD Online is seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer for a hands-on role in a fast-growing manufacturing setting in Hyde, Greater Manchester. The role focuses on electrical and mechanical maintenance, diagnostics and installation work to keep production running safely and reliably.

You’ll join a team reporting to Facilities Manager, with a 36-hour week and a 3-month probation. The package includes a strong benefits scheme and pension contributions.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in electrical/multi-skilled field.
• Apprentice trained or equivalent.
• Experience with PLC and HMI fault-finding.
• Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical practices with good diagnostics.
• Team player who communicates clearly and supports improvement.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventive and reactive maintenance on extrusion lines, moulding machines, automation cells and conveyors.
• Diagnose and repair faults in electrical, mechanical and building services, including PLC/HMI systems.
• Perform electrical installation work for new plant, machinery and services.
• Monitor equipment condition and report defects to Facilities Manager.
• Support other departments with electrical/mechanical work and new installations.
• Maintain up-to-date health and safety records and documentation.
• Assist with apprentice training and mentoring.
