Job summary

Fairmont Cheshire, The Mere in Knutsford, Cheshire, North-West England seeks an IT Support Technician to assist the Chief Engineer and IT Manager with day-to-day technical IT support across desktop, network and hotel systems. You will handle fault isolation, user accounts, and routine admin tasks to ensure seamless hotel operations.

Work in a luxury hospitality environment with responsibilities spanning PMS/POS systems, guest Wi‑Fi, and network troubleshooting, while maintaining brand standards

Qualifications

• Technically capable with network fundamentals and basic troubleshooting.
• Experience in PC/desktop troubleshooting in Windows environment.
• Knowledge of user account administration (Microsoft 365, AD).
• Ability to advise on in-house IT systems including PMS/POS.
• Independent work style with ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Provide IT support to IT Manager and Chief Engineer to run departments efficiently.
• Act as first contact for IT faults across all hotel departments; diagnose hardware/software issues.
• Monitor and manage IT ticket requests for timely actions.
• Create and manage user accounts, passwords and access privileges.
• Provide basic network support and troubleshoot Wi-Fi, switches and cabling.
• Build and deploy end-user devices and patch operating systems per brand standards.
• Support core hotel systems (PMS, POS, telephony, guest Wi‑Fi) and liaise with vendors.
• Maintain IT service continuity during the IT Manager’s absence.
• Maintain inventory of equipment, software and licenses.
• Coordinate quotes with suppliers for tasks and maintain SOPs.
• Assist planning of maintenance schedules and preventive maintenance.
• Update risk assessments as required.
