Job summary

Fairmont Cheshire, The Mere is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep the resort's estates facilities, equipment, and guest environments safe and well‑maintained. You will respond quickly to maintenance needs, perform preventative tasks, and support daily operations to deliver the 5‑star experience.

Responsibilities include routine repairs across guest rooms, public areas, spa, and leisure facilities, plus basic HVAC/electrical support and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Diploma or vocational certification in mechanical maintenance or equivalent.
• 2–3 years in a maintenance or technician role in hospitality or facilities.
• Knowledge of building systems and hotel infrastructure.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical/technical issues.
• Safe use of tools and repair practices.
• Ability to read maintenance manuals and safety guidelines.
• Excellent written/spoken English communication.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Commitment to safety and service excellence.
• Professional conduct aligned with Fairmont standards.

Responsibilities

• General Maintenance – perform routine repairs across guest rooms, public areas, spa and back‑of‑house spaces.
• Preventative Tasks – complete scheduled inspections to reduce downtime.
• HVAC & Electrical Support – assist with basic electrical, plumbing, heating, and cooling troubleshooting.
• Safety Compliance – ensure work meets health, safety, and regulatory standards and report hazards.
• Guest Support – respond promptly to guest maintenance requests.
• Equipment Care – maintain tools and machinery and keep them safe and clean.
• Collaboration – work with engineering and housekeeping teams to support operations.
• Record Keeping – log work completed and report recurring issues for asset management.
• Emergency Response – act quickly in leaks, power issues, or equipment failures.
