Job summary

Brook Street is seeking a Housing Estates Officer to support Ministry of Defence properties in Argyll and Bute (Helensburgh). You will visit properties to monitor contractor work, check standards, and complete admin tasks from base.

You will manage occupant monitoring within an allocated portfolio, conduct handovers, engage with stakeholders, and contribute to service delivery while maintaining compliance and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Strong work ethic and practical mindset for property and service standards.
• Understanding of property repairs or estate management helpful.
• Comfortable with day-to-day office tasks using Microsoft applications.
• Willing to shadow other officers before solo site visits.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• Physical fitness for site visits and stairs.
• Commitment to compliance and safety expectations.

Responsibilities

• Visit MOD properties to monitor contractor work and verify standards.
• Check property work and escalate if standards are not met.
• Manage occupant monitoring for non-SFA/SSFA within portfolio.
• Conduct handovers to ensure families receive required service.
• Support stakeholder engagement events as needed.
• Perform assurance checks on service levels and supplier work.
• Handle level-2 complaints promptly.
• Monitor/validate/authorize time reliefs within limits.
• Maintain case workload to agreed standards.
• Support delivery of additional services within delegation and timeframes.
• Ensure compliance and mandatory training is met.
• Maintain safe lone-working practices when required.
