Job summary

Crossroads Truck & Bus Ltd in Castleford seeks a skilled HGV Technician to maintain and repair Volvo trucks, buses and trailers at the Castleford depot. You will perform inspections, diagnostics, scheduled servicing and fault-finding while ensuring high safety and quality standards.

Working on-site with workshop colleagues, you’ll manage documentation, support breakdowns and contribute to continuous improvement of workshop processes, keeping customers informed with clear, accurate updates.

Qualifications

• Strong HGV mechanical and electrical skills with diagnostics.
• Ability to use diagnostic tools safely and fault-find.
• Knowledge of MOT prep and DVSA requirements.
• NVQ/City & Guilds Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent.
• Experience in a commercial vehicle workshop or dealership.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine maintenance on Volvo trucks, buses and trailers.
• Perform inspections, diagnostics and repairs to manufacturer standards.
• Identify faults and complete scheduled services with accurate documentation.
• Assist with breakdowns and pre-MOT checks.
• Support continuous improvement in workshop processes.
• Work with workshop colleagues to prioritise jobs and maintain safety standards.
