FBC UK in Blackpool is seeking an Engineering Shift Lead to join our bakery. You will lead the Shift Engineering Team, drive daily preventative maintenance, resolve breakdowns, and ensure smooth handovers to the next shift.

The role involves coordinating with Production, attending short interval control meetings, and maintaining safety, equipment, and maintenance records. Shifts are 12-hour, days and nights on a rotating pattern.

Qualifications

• Time served in mechanical or electrical engineering disciplines.
• IOSH certification is required.
• Food safety/hygiene qualification is required.
• Knowledge of planned maintenance systems (Shire) is essential.
• Strong MS Office skills, especially Excel.
• Manufacturing background, preferably in food industry.
• Demonstrable leadership and coordination of a team.

Responsabilités

• Lead the engineering team to support plant operation, prioritising work and delivering planned, improvement and reactive tasks.
• Develop engineering team members to achieve goals and targets.
• Ensure shift documentation and handovers are up to date and accurate.
• Update maintenance records across systems in a timely manner.
• Provide technical detail for handovers and participate in decision-making with Operations.
• Escalate issues for external support as required.
• Represent Engineering in short-interval control meetings and communicate with stakeholders.
• Ensure plant safety and compliance with health and safety legislation and standards.
• Work within the group-wide engineering reliability strategy.
• Maintain equipment in line with food safety legislation.
• Manage PTW and contractor control when required; ensure SWP adherence.
• Organise team holidays and sickness policies including RTW.
• Undertake training and upskilling as directed; keep up with technology.
• Support safety, quality or disciplinary investigations when needed.
