Amey in Cardiff is hiring an on-site Electrician to support HMP Cardiff. You will perform planned and reactive electrical maintenance within the prison, ensure safe operation, and work to IET Wiring Regulations under BS7671.
The role requires a Level 2 electrical installation qualification and willingness to obtain prison clearance. The package includes a 39-hour week (Mon-Thu 07:30–16:30, Fri 07:30–15:30) with a 1 in 3 weekend rotation and 15% uplift, plus Amey's broad benefits and development

The standard hours of work are 39 hours per week Monday - Thursday 07:30 – 16:30, Friday 07:30 – 15:30. 1 in 3 weekends with 15% uplift shift allowance.

The Electrician plays an important part in ensuring the planned and reactive maintenance work within the prisons is carried out in a safe, compliant and timely manner.
Previous experience with planned preventative maintenance is preferred but not essential. While a Level 3 qualification is preferred, we are open to interviewing candidates with a Level 2 qualification.
