Job summary

ESP Global Services is seeking an experienced Desktop Support Engineer to provide temporary cover at London Luton Airport. The role is an initial 3‑month fixed‑term contract (temporary absence cover) with on‑site duties at Luton Airport and a salary of GBP 28,000–29,000 per year.

You will deliver hands‑on desktop support, troubleshoot Windows and Microsoft 365, manage user accounts in Active Directory and ensure IT services run smoothly in a busy, operational environment.

Qualifications

• Previous hands‑on experience in desktop, end‑user computing or IT support, ideally three years or more.
• Strong Windows, Microsoft 365 and Active Directory troubleshooting skills.
• Experience supporting laptops, desktops, peripherals and mobile devices.
• Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN and wireless networking.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues independently.
• Strong communication skills and a customer‑focused approach.
• Ability to work effectively on‑site and manage competing support priorities.
• Experience supporting IT services in an airport, logistics, transport or other operationally critical environment.
• Familiarity with IT service management processes and ticketing systems.
• Experience providing Smart Hands support for network or server infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Providing hands‑on desktop and end‑user IT support across the airport environment.
• Installing, configuring, troubleshooting and repairing laptops, desktops and peripherals.
• Supporting Windows, Microsoft 365, mobile devices and standard business applications.
• Managing user accounts, permissions and access through Active Directory.
• Diagnosing and resolving hardware, software and connectivity issues.
• Providing Smart Hands support for network and infrastructure equipment.
• Supporting LAN, Wi‑Fi, VPN and other connectivity services.
• Managing incidents and service requests in line with agreed service levels.
• Delivering professional, customer‑focused support in a busy operational environment.
