Amey is offering an on-site General Building Engineer role at HMP Morton Hall. The position provides a salary between £28,792 and £31,792, plus a 15% weekend allowance, and a 39-hour week with a weekend rota on a one-in-three cycle.

You will perform planned and reactive maintenance to ensure a safe, compliant and secure environment, supporting the prison's facilities across England and Wales.

Qualifications

• Practical maintenance experience across areas such as fire safety
• Experience of emergency-lighting and residual current device testing
• Understanding of water-temperature testing and associated compliance requirements
• Good IT skills, with the ability to update maintenance records and use facilities management systems

Responsabilités

• Deliver planned and reactive building maintenance safely, efficiently and in line with compliance requirements
• Help maintain fire safety systems including fire doors, extinguishers, hydrants, hoses, smoke vents and alarms
• Complete scheduled testing of emergency lighting, residual current devices and misting units and record results
• Carry out flushing and water-temperature testing in line with water risk assessments
• Maintain security systems (CCTV and alarms) and other maintenance activities
• Manage remedial work through CAFM system and ensure parts are available for statutory maintenance
